The effectiveness of a school is directly tied to the level of interest, support, and involvement of the community. ½ûÂþÌìÌà leaders and citizens actively contribute their time and resources to the improvement of ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ's public schools. Over 1,500 men and women from organizations throughout the metro ½ûÂþÌìÌà community invest approximately 19,000 hours of service in the District's schools annually. Many of the volunteers come from businesses, while others come to serve in JPS through civic groups, churches, government and military organizations, and higher education institutions.
